Jim Wallace Pharmacy in the central Sydney suburb of Ermington, stocks Knee Walker Scooters for sale and hire. We are on Victoria Rd half way between Ryde and Parramatta. The Knee Walker Scooter is a relatively recent option for people with injuries / surgery to the ankle / foot area. This walker gives the disabled patient a much more mobile alternative to the traditional crutches solution.
We prefer an assessment by your Doctor, Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist that you are a suitable candidate for this equipment. Not everyone is coordinated or balanced enough to handle a scooter safely. If you’re still not sure, just call in any day of the week for a test drive.
There are a number of safety guidelines for the Knee Walker we go through with you at the time of rental or purchase. It is important that the scooter only ever travels at walking pace. Brakes should not be applied abruptly or when turning. Previous knee conditions may mean this equipment is unsuitable.
Knee Walker Scooter Sydney – Hire / Buy option.
If you rent the Knee Walker / Scooter for more than two months, it may be more economical to purchase. Ask us about our option to pay the difference under these circumstances and keep the walker.
The handle height is adjustable. A quick release lever (just like on pushbike wheels) allows you fold the handle under the knee pad for transport. Brakes can be locked on for added stability.
Although we have a large hire fleet, it’s best to book your knee walker / scooter ahead.
One optional extra on the knee walker is a basket. This makes it easier to transport small items from one place to another.
